  • Undertaking thorough reviews of complex claims to provide guidance on their future assessment;
  • Advising on the full range of issues that may arise during the assessment of a claim such as interpreting policy terms, non-disclosure & misrepresentation and the available remedies, fraudulent claims, pre-existing condition and other exclusion clauses;
  • Discussing the collection of evidence relevant to the assessment of the claim, including medical, financial, employment and vocational information;
  • Assisting with compliance with the Life Insurance Code of Practice;
  • Liaising with other support services such as internal medical officers, rehabilitation consultants, forensic accountants, and underwriters;
  • Participating in claims case conferences and other internal claim review forums;
  • Assisting with drafting correspondence such as to customers, doctors or lawyers.
